Banana Foster

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1/4 cup banana liqueur or banana rum

  • 1/4 cup dark rum

  • 4 scoops ice cream

  • 4 bananas sliced down the middle.

Method

  1. Melt the butter, then combine with the sugar and cinnamon.

  2. Slowly heat the mixture until the sugar dissolves.

  3. Stir in the banana liqueur, then place the bananas in the pan.

  4. Fry the bananas until they begin to soften and caramelise, then add the rum.

  5. Tile the pan, then ignite the rum.

  6. Wait for the flames to die, then serve the bananas with ice cream and top with the leftover sauce.
